Field House Gym

Ortega River Run.
At 0715 this morning people started to gather in Ortega for the annual Ortega River Run. The weather was not particularly gracious as 40 something degrees is no fun to hang out in, little lone run 5 miles. But that did not stop a couple thousand people and their families from leaving the comfort of their Jacksonville homes to strap on some running shoes.
The Field House had a good showing of members. Some members came to run, some to escort their kids, and some came to help volunteer passing out Gatorade and water at the finish line. Whatever the reason was for coming out, it was great to see everyone out side of the gym supporting the community.

Sorry for the poor photos, I need a new camera.

Good, but have to work up to the mileage to condition the calf muscles because it's quite a bit different than in shoes. Feet actually take LESS of a beating than if running in shoes, mine didn't hurt at all afterwards. I'd race this distance again, though maybe for now will stay with shoes for the 9.3 mile Gate River Run.
