AWRGHHHHHHHHH........
I am impressed with Gil, I feel this way when I even see rowing on the board, he made it all the way to the rower, before letting his emotions fly. Discipline!!!
We all have various reasons for doing CrossFit from being buff and beautiful for the beach to competing in the Games. For some of us it is as simple as I do CrossFit because it works, it takes an hour and doing it with my friends keeps me accountable and fun. When thinking bout how to market our gym, we want to address all these reasons, but when I saw this study I knew that for me this was why I do CrossFit. I have attached the study here, but the gist is that they took crosssections of human legs, I am assuming using an MRI, In the image below one subject was a 40 year old triathlete, the second was a 70 year old triathlete and the third was a sedentary 74 year old. What struck me as I looked at the image was the relative size of the muscle mass in the two triathletes, the fat and lack of muscle in the sedentary subject wasn't much of a surprise. But also notice the relative size equality of the bone in the two athletes especially when compared to the sedentary subject. (FYI adipose tissue is body fat)
